What you need to prepare filter coffee
You can choose from different preparation methods, and the most popular ones include:

When you decide on the preparation method, you need to know the characteristics of the coffee you will prepare. You must pay attention to whether the coffee is roasted light or dark, as this will define the taste you will feel in your cup.
What does the coffee roasting style tell you?
Light roasted coffee is usually more suitable for making filter coffee than dark roasted coffee. Of course, this depends on your taste.
Light roasted filter coffee
Coffee beans have a higher density. This means that they need a higher water temperature of 90-95 °C for extraction. The flavors of light roasted coffee come close fruit and citrus taste.
Medium roasted filter coffee
If the filter coffee is a little less roasted, then the coffee beans have a little less density. This means that for extraction they need a slightly lower water temperature of 85-90 °C. The flavors created by medium roasted coffee are reminiscent of chocolate and nuts.
Dark roasted filter coffee
Dark roasted coffee is heavily roasted. Dark roasted coffee beans have a low density, so they are fragile. For the extraction in this case of filler coffee, you need a low temperature of water, which is around 80 °C. The flavors evoked by dark roasted coffee are bitter, because the coffee is burnt. This taste turns most people away from drinking filter coffee. This coffee is classified as low-quality coffee.
CHEMEX FILTER COFFEE: PREPARATION
To prepare, you need a Cemex filter coffee, you need the following accessories:
- Chemex jug,
- filter paper,
- water heater,
- scales and
- coffee.
First, consider what ratio of coffee to water you will use. We recommend a ratio of 1:15, which means 1 g of coffee per 15 g of water. Relationships that you can use can also be:
- 1:15,
- 1:16,
- 1:17
- and another.
To prepare one cup of filter coffee, you need 10 g of coffee. If you would like coffee that has a stronger taste or greater effect, you can add more coffee to the water according to your own taste. For 10 g of coffee, you will need 150 g of water.
Place the jug filter on a scale that measures grams, as this is the only way you will be able to know exactly how much water to add. A great option is that the scale also has a timer available, but if it doesn't have one, you can help yourself with the stopwatch on your phone.
The next step is that before you pour the coffee into the filter paper, you need to pour hot water over the filter paper to remove the taste of the paper and prepare it for filtration. You take the filter and place it in a Chemex jug. You heat the water to 92 °C. Then pour the filter coffee into the filter paper.
First, pour double the amount of water and make sure to wet all the coffee and wait about 30 to 40 seconds. This step is called blooming.
Then slowly pour 100 g of water again and wait for the top layer to dry. Repeat the process until all the water has been poured in.
When pouring water, always be careful not to pour too much over the sides of the filter paper, but pour in a spiral fashion for complete extraction.
Remove the filter paper with filter coffee, take your favorite coffee cup and enjoy premium coffee.
AEROPRESS PREPARATION FILTER COFFEE
To prepare, you need an Aeropress, a cup or mug, filter paper, a kettle, a scale and coffee.
First you need to decide what the ratio between coffee and water will be. You can choose between the following ratios:
- 1:15
- 1:16
- 1:17
We recommend a ratio of 1:15, which means 1 g of coffee and 15 g of water. You need 10 g of coffee to make one cup. Of course, you can always use more coffee, it depends on your taste. For 10 g of coffee, you will need 150 g of water.
Then you take the filter, place it in the Aeropress and heat the water to 92 °C. Before pouring the coffee into the filter paper, it must be poured with hot water to remove the taste of the paper. This is how you prepare the filter paper for filtration. Then sprinkle filter coffee into it.
Place the Aeropress on top of a cup or jug and place the whole thing on the gram scale, as this is the only way you will be able to know how much water to add. A great option is that the scale also has a timer available, but if it doesn't have one, you can use the stopwatch on your phone to help.
First, pour enough water to wet all the coffee. Wait about 30-40 seconds. This step is called blooming.
Then pour in the rest of the water, mix gently and seal to create a vacuum. Wait 60 seconds. Then gently start pressing to start the extraction.
FILTER COFFEE V60
You need the following tools for preparation:
- v60 dripper,
- mug or cup,
- filter paper,
- water heater,
- scales and
- filter coffee.
Decide what ratio of coffee to water you will choose for your taste and needs. It is usually chosen from the following iramzers:

This is how you prepare the filter paper for filtration. Then you take the filter and place it in the dripper. You heat the water to 92 °C. Finally pour the coffee into the filter paper.
Place the dripper on top of a jug or cup and place the whole thing on a gram scale. This is the only way you will know exactly how much water to add. It's great that the scale has a timer. If you don't have one, you can use the stopwatch on your phone or just a regular watch.
At the beginning, pour twice the amount of water. Be careful to wet all the coffee. Wait about 30-40 seconds, as the coffee is blooming.
Then slowly pour another 100 g of water and wait for the top layer to dry. Repeat this process until you pour in the entire amount of water.
When pouring water, always be careful not to pour too much over the sides of the filter paper. Prefer to pour in a spiral manner for complete extraction.
